A Biolectric system is a compact, farm-scale anaerobic digester that turns slurry from cows or pigs into electricity and heat. It uses only slurry — nothing extra needs to be added — and fits into the normal running of a livestock farm. Slurry is fed into a stainless-steel tank where natural bacteria break it down and produce biogas. That gas is then used in a containerised engine unit to generate electricity. The electricity can be used on the farm to reduce bills, and any excess can be exported. The heat produced keeps the system warm and can also be used elsewhere on the farm. The system is largely built and tested in the factory before arriving on site, which helps keep installation straightforward and commissioning predictable. Once it’s up and running, the system looks after itself in the background, with just routine checks and basic care needed each day. Biolectric systems are designed to be reliable, repeatable, and easy to live with — more like a piece of core farm infrastructure than an experimental technology.
